About the Author
Sofia Zamora is a junior at Coronado High School and an aspiring cardiologist. She created BioHealth Insights to raise awareness about diseases and to explore the science behind them. Sofia also founded Youth for Full Capacity, a nonprofit organization that collects and donates medical supplies to the homeless. Her passion for learning about new diseases was further ignited during a biomedical internship at UCSD, where she studied pulmonary arterial hypertension.
At BioHealth Insights, Sofia explores the intricate details of diseases, uncovering the biological mechanisms behind them. Driven by a commitment to education and awareness, Sofia conducts in-depth research and interviews individuals living with various health conditions to provide a comprehensive view of each disease.
